Normally, when I join a Teams meeting via laptop with built-in camera, with "gallery" view checked, I can see myself via a small box on screen while also viewing other participants. For no apparent reason, Teams began to show only a small blank black box where my video should have been.
Other participants assured me they could see me fine. There does not appear to be any setting to permit the user to resolve the problem. Shutting down Teams and restarting did not fix the problem. As is often the case, a simple restart of the computer resolved the issue. So I suggest rebooting first before trying any of the other suggested solutions. So, anyone has solved that issue? The internet is full of questions why it is not working, but there is no complete solution how to solve it..
In my case, the solution was the simple one -- close down all applications and reboot the computer. I have not found any resolution although I think the issue might be resolved.
We did a check for update within teams to make sure there are no pending updates and restarted the PC. I have a hunch that it is a bug with one of the teams version, although I am not sure which version that user was on at the time. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. To hide your own video, select More options in your video feed next to your name and choose Hide for me. This will hide your video for your own view, others will still see your video. Teams crops some videos to make them fit your screen better. When you join a Teams meeting or call on the mobile app, you can customize your video experience—and the video you share with others—in a bunch of different ways. To turn on your video before a meeting, just tap Turn video on right before you join. You may want to turn your video on or off over the course of a meeting—if you'd prefer people only see you while you're talking, for example.
